Every year the requirements on software designers change. Mostly for security reasons, as older software becomes more and more vulnerable to attacks, because the old operating systems they are running on are getting too out of date.
We don’t upgrade Pastoral Care just for the heck of it! It’s allot of work, so it is done thoughtfully and carefully and only as needed.

Technology Upgrades
We also have to keep up with Technology. As we write our software ourselves, we also use computers (many of them!) and these need to be kept up with the latest operating systems to ensure we are writing software that will perform both safely, but also efficiently on the latest hardware platforms. If you keep your software up to date, then upgrading your technology from time to time is less painful!
Email Transport and Security
The requirements for security around emails are designed to assist in privacy protection, and the avoidance of Spam. We upgrade our Email software often to ensure it is up with the latest encryption methods and transport protocols.
